Letter in thanks by CDPM to Reverendum Sante Portalupi for all the support that the Catholic Church has lent during the East Timor situation through its solidarity actions. One of the results of this effort was the recent approval of a UN Resolution that consecrates the right to self-determination and independence.

According to the document, 1982 was strongly marked by an Indonesian diplomatic offensive in the international arena, and so, it was necessary to foment solidarity in the country and support for FRETILIN as well.
