Cover of a dossier by CDPM promoting, along with the other international delegations at Newspaper Avante's 82 party, a journey of solidarity to East Timor. According to the document, 1982 was strongly marked by an Indonesian diplomatic offensive in the international arena, and so, it was necessary to foment solidarity in the country and support for FRETILIN as well.

Letter Antônio Pinto Barbedo de Magalhães – Portuguese Authorities 1983-02-21

Letter by CDPM to the President of Portugal, President of the Assembly, Ministry of Foreign Business, Prime Ministry and other authorities to express their gratitude for Portuguese diplomatic action toward the recently approved UN resolution affirming the right to self-determination and independence for East Timor. CDPM reaffirms their wishes to keep working together with the Portuguese authorities and proposes some specific actions to be taken by the Government regarding the increased conquest of Timorese people, such as: i. the creation of a group of countries with common contact to cooperate with Portugal in the self-determination process; ii. creation of a Commission of National Work to deal with the questions related to East Timor only; iii. definition of national and international strategies to look for effective solutions; iv. realization of a Cultural Week of Maubere; v. realization of an international conference about East Timor to deal with human rights and international law issues, etc.

Letter CPDM - Monsenhor Sante Portalupi 1983-02-22

Letter in thanks by CDPM to Reverendum Sante Portalupi for all the support that the Catholic Church has lent during the East Timor situation through its solidarity actions. One of the results of this effort was the recent approval of a UN Resolution that consecrates the right to self-determination and independence.
