Report by CDPM of a Conference held by the United Nations in El Puerto, Spain for young students from over 50 countries where they discussed themes related to peace, human rights, Third World economies, development, etc. During the meeting, the Movement of Young Students of the United Nations (ISMUN, in Portuguese) deliberated over a resolution where they asked Indonesia to immediately remove their army from Timor, to restart the negotiation process begun in 1983, and appealing to all associated members of ISMUN to support East Timor's self-determination at the level of UN and other international forums.

Speech from the party in honor of Zeca Afonso recalling his struggle and dedication to East Timor and sharing the responsibilities and duties of the Portuguese to fight against the inertia of the Portuguese Government. The speech also broaches the following topics: Xanana Gusmão's importance; the necessity of pressuring the United Nations; the negotiation process; the three positions of CDPM to end the struggle: 1- There is no negotiation without legitimates representatives of FRETILIN, 2- The Portuguese Government should press for a political solution that leads to the true self-determination of Timor, 3- A strong Diplomatic campaign by Portuga is necessary, along with European and non-Europeans allies, to press the international community and see results.
